Get the connection right
Carrying the tool and powering it are different jobs.
Compact tractors and Quick-Tach
The front connection carries and lifts the tool. A matching PTO or hydraulic supply powers it. Most Kersten front attachments also need an attachment-specific ABR bracket; the linkage alone is not the complete installation.
Outfront mower lift arms
The documented 1400 / 1500 mower installations use existing lift arms and front PTO with an FM bracket. Confirm the shaft interface, clearance, collector weight and any extra hydraulic controls.
FKDR ride-on systems
FKDR supplies a model-specific front linkage and hydraulic package for suitable smaller ride-on mowers. It is distinct from Quick-Tach. Choose the exact mower kit before selecting the tool.
Use the right starting point
What changes between the John Deere families?
| Your carrier | Documented route | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Series | The 1026 example uses a KM 13045 H and a Quick-Tach-specific ABR bracket. | Hydraulic drive retains the mid deck in that installation. Front PTO use requires a different deck arrangement. |
| 2 Series | The 2038R example uses a rear HKM; the 2026R example uses active vacuum collection. | Rear-PTO availability, collection weight, front drive and mid-deck requirements. |
| 3 Series | The 3720 uses a front hydraulic KM45; the 3039R vertical-brush example uses a separate PTO hydraulic pack. | Usable continuous hydraulic flow and cooling. Check current attachment requirements against the exact tractor. |
| X700 / X900 | Series pages offer front Quick-Tach and matched power routes. | Exact model and generation, kit, PTO interface and any rear-linkage provision; do not assume the smaller FKDR kit applies. |
| X300 / X500 | The X590 weedbrush example uses an FKDR linkage and hydraulic pack. | Correct model-specific FKDR kit and surface-appropriate brush tools. |
| 1400 / 1500 outfront mowers | Existing lift arms and front PTO drive a KM45 through an FM bracket. | Shaft interface, bracket version, collector weight and hydraulic opening requirements. |
Send the model, not just the badge. Include the year or serial number, photos of mounting points, PTO and hydraulic couplings, plus your task and access width.
Match the method to the surface
What does your site need?
Routine sweeping
Remove loose soil, leaves and detritus before they accumulate along edges and drainage routes. Add collection when the material needs to leave the surface.
Path-edge reclamation
Use active weedbrushing for established vegetation and overburden, then sweep up the loosened material. Choose brush tools and settings around the surface.
Artificial-surface care
Routine grooming and infill redistribution, active agitation and contamination removal are different tasks. Choose the brush and collection method for the surface and its infill.
Gravel renovation
Loosen the surface layer and disturb weeds with the right renovation tools. Set depth to avoid disturbing the base; grading is a separate material-shaping job.
Autumn leaves
Blowing is useful where leaves can be directed to an agreed collection point. Choose sweeping and collection when material needs to be picked up in the same pass.
Winter access
A plough pushes snow; a snow blower projects it. Plan storage or discharge space, then consider spreading equipment for the separate job of ice management.

Before ordering
Your John Deere attachment questions answered.
Will an attachment fit every John Deere in the same series?
No. Confirm the full model, generation or serial number, mounting points, drive and controls. A case study demonstrates a specific installation; it does not approve every carrier with the same badge.
Can I keep the mid mower deck fitted?
The 1026 case study describes hydraulic sweeping with the mid deck retained. Its front-PTO option uses the mid-PTO drive and requires the mower deck to be removed. A rear-PTO hydraulic pack offers another route. Verify the exact tractor and attachments you want to use together.
Does Quick-Tach mean the attachment bolts straight on?
Not usually. The connection provides the carrier interface and lift functions, while a matched ABR bracket connects the Kersten attachment. A powered tool also needs the correct mechanical PTO or hydraulic supply.
Is FKDR the same as John Deere Quick-Tach?
No. FKDR is a model-specific Kersten linkage and hydraulic system for suitable ride-on mowers, including the X590 case-study route. Quick-Tach is a different carrier interface. Match the bracket and power arrangement to the actual system on your mower or tractor.
How do outfront-mower attachments connect?
The documented 1400 / 1500 series installations use existing lift arms and front PTO with a matched FM bracket. Check the shaft connection, clearance and full operating weight. Collector opening may need additional hydraulic equipment.
Can the vertical brush be ordered for any 3-Series tractor?
No. The older 3039R installation used a separate rear-PTO hydraulic pack. The current UB EASY PAK VB listing specifies carriers over 45 hp and at least 25 l/min. Obtain an engineering check for your exact tractor, mounting and power package before ordering.
What else does the Matev vacuum attachment need?
The complete system needs the correct mounting and drive, suitable brush hydraulics, hoses and an approved collection container or trailer. Check the full power, airflow, load and installation requirements; the price shown is for the individual attachment listing.
Are these prices for complete installation kits?
No. They are individual listing prices excluding VAT. Mounting, power conversion, hydraulic supply, brackets, controllers and accessories may be extra. Live prices refresh on kerstenuk.com; checked fallback values remain if the update fails.
What should I send for a quotation?
