Kersten KRB 250 wide-area brushes
Keep artificial turf even, upright and ready for play.
The 2.5-metre KRB 250 folding brush is built for fast, regular grooming of synthetic sports surfaces — redistributing displaced infill, lifting the pile and covering large areas without sacrificing access through narrow gates.
Maintain the playing system
Regular brushing does more than improve appearance.
Foot traffic moves loose infill away from heavily used areas, while synthetic fibres can lie flat under repeated play. Routine wide-area grooming helps restore a more even distribution of material and supports the pile so the surface remains consistent underfoot.
Redistribute infill
Move sand or rubber crumb back across troughs and mounds created by repeated player movement and concentrated traffic.
Lift the pile
Stiff brush sections help stand flattened fibres more upright so the infill can support the surface more evenly.
Cover large areas quickly
A 2.5-metre working width makes regular grooming practical on full-size pitches, training areas and other large synthetic surfaces.
Keep access practical
The outer brush sections fold, allowing a wide maintenance implement to pass through narrower access points and single gates.
Designed for routine pitch care
Wide enough to be productive, adjustable enough to treat the surface properly.
The KRB 250 uses a full-width set of stiff nylon brushes with support across the working width. Height-adjustable casters let the operator set how firmly the brush works the surface rather than simply dragging a fixed frame across the pile.
High area coverage for routine maintenance while the folding outer sections make storage and access more manageable.
Set the brush position to suit the surface condition and required contact rather than applying unnecessary pressure.
Designed to redistribute infill and work through the synthetic pile without turning routine grooming into an aggressive renovation pass.
Provides a stable storage position and helps keep the brush assembly supported when it is off the carrier.
Choose by carrier
The same 2.5-metre brush principle, matched to three Kersten carrier systems.
Working width and maintenance purpose stay the same. Choose the product whose attachment system matches the machine already in your fleet.
KRB 250 KU 35
The K-series version for smaller Kersten hydraulic power units. It gives these compact carriers a full 2.5-metre grooming width while retaining the manoeuvrability needed around gates, fencing and pitch furniture.
Why choose it: the route for K820, K820 Pro and K1500 owners who want large-area artificial-turf grooming without changing carrier platform.
KRB 250 KU 70
The K2100 version combines the wide KRB grooming head with Kersten's larger professional two-wheel tractor, giving operators a robust carrier for frequent maintenance across sports pitches and larger synthetic sites.
Why choose it: the strongest fit where K2100 is already the site's main multi-attachment maintenance carrier.
KRB 250 M-U 70
The UBS attachment version brings the same 2.5-metre folding brush to compatible UBS two-wheel tractors, keeping the maintenance principle consistent for fleets built around the UBS platform.
Why choose it: the correct wide-area grooming attachment where UBS 9, 13 or 16 machines provide the existing carrier base.
A preventative maintenance routine
Brush before surface displacement becomes a repair problem.
The most effective maintenance is regular enough that infill never becomes badly displaced or compacted. Wide-area brushing belongs alongside sweeping and debris control rather than replacing them.
Use the KRB to smooth displaced infill and lift the pile before high-traffic areas develop pronounced troughs, mounds or flattened fibres.
Leaves, dust and organic debris should be swept and collected so they do not break down into the infill, restrict drainage or create conditions for moss and algae.
If the surface is already compacted, moss-bound or heavily contaminated, use an appropriate powered sweeper or remedial process before returning to a regular grooming schedule.
Keep the brush working properly
Replacement brushes, tines and ballast are available for the KRB 250.
Brush condition and contact pressure affect the result. Worn brush elements reduce grooming action, while additional ballast should only be used when the surface condition genuinely calls for more pressure.
KRB 250 replacement brush
Replace worn brush sections to restore consistent contact and grooming performance across the full working width.

Keep the supporting brush/tine assembly serviceable rather than allowing worn components to create inconsistent pressure across the surface.

Add ballast where more brush pressure is required. Set brush height and pressure deliberately; aggressive contact is not the goal of routine artificial-turf grooming.

For top dressing or powered agitation, look at the reciprocating brush.
The KRB 250 is strongest as a fast routine static groomer. Where the job calls for powered bi-directional brushing, working in top dressing or more active movement through the pile, the KRPB reciprocating brush is the next option to consider.
Wide-area brush FAQs
Questions to answer before choosing a KRB 250.
Why are there three KRB 250 products?
The brush width and maintenance principle are the same. The products differ in the attachment interface required for K820/K820 Pro/K1500, K2100 and UBS 9/13/16 carrier families.
Will a 2.5-metre brush fit through normal pitch access?
The KRB 250 uses folding outer brush sections specifically to reduce the width for access and storage, so the full working width does not need to pass through the gate unfolded.
What is the KRB 250 actually doing to the surface?
Its main jobs are redistributing loose infill, smoothing surface displacement and helping stand synthetic fibres upright. It is intended for regular grooming rather than aggressive moss removal.
Can I add more brush pressure?
Optional 30 kg ballast weights are available. Additional pressure should be matched to the surface condition and brush height rather than used automatically, because routine grooming should not unnecessarily overwork the pile.
Does brushing replace sweeping?
No. The KRB redistributes infill and presents the pile, while powered sweeping and collection remove leaves, dirt and organic debris. The two operations address different maintenance needs.
What if the pitch is already compacted or moss-bound?
Use a suitable remedial cleaning process first. A powered sweeper can remove contamination and loosen affected areas; once the surface has been restored, the KRB can return to its routine preventative role.
