Professional groundcare machinery, demonstrated for a real task

See the machine work before you decide.

Request a Kersten machinery demonstration for sweeping, weed control, path renovation, artificial surfaces, winter maintenance, mowing or a specialist site-maintenance task. Tell us about the surface, material, access and outcome you need, and we will help identify the right next step.

  • Match the machine to the actual application
  • Confirm access and carrier compatibility
  • Let operators assess handling and setup
  • Agree what a useful result should look like

A request is not an automatic booking. Demonstrations are arranged after Kersten reviews the application, machine suitability, location, access, availability and any applicable costs.

1

Your surface

Test the method against the actual paving, kerb, path, yard, sports surface, gravel or vegetation involved.

2

Your material

Use representative weeds, moss, detritus, soil, leaves, snow or other material wherever practical.

3

Your machine fit

Confirm working width, access, attachment fitment, hydraulic or PTO needs and the right power unit.

4

Your success measure

Decide whether the priority is output, finish, collection, reduced effort, surface protection or method comparison.

Choose the task first

What would you like to demonstrate?

You do not need to know the exact model. Start with the job, surface and constraint. Kersten can then discuss the most relevant power unit, attachment or treatment method.

Make the demonstration useful

A good demonstration answers four practical questions

The goal is not simply to watch a machine run. It is to decide whether the machine and method fit the work your team actually needs to complete.

A

Does it solve the right problem?

Separate weed removal, detritus removal, edge recovery, cleaning, collection and surface preparation so the test matches the real task.

B

Will it fit the site?

Check gates, steps, kerbs, slopes, route width, turning space, storage, transport and any public-access constraints.

C

Will it fit the fleet?

For mounted equipment, confirm the carrier model, linkage, PTO, hydraulic flow, lift capacity and working width before attendance.

D

How will success be judged?

Choose a simple baseline such as metres completed, finish quality, material collected, operator effort or repeat treatment need.

Choose the right next step

Demonstration, measured trial or hire?

These routes answer different buying questions. Choose the one that best matches the level of evidence, operating time and internal approval you need.

Best starting point

Guided machinery demonstration

A focused session to assess machine suitability, setup, handling and the result on a defined task.

  • Useful when the machine or method is still being selected
  • Kersten guidance during the evaluation
  • Good for operators, managers and procurement stakeholders
  • Can lead to a quote, hire or more structured trial

For stronger evidence

Measured site trial

A defined comparison with a baseline, agreed method, success measures and clear reporting boundaries.

  • Useful for councils, contractors and multi-site programmes
  • Compare a current method with a proposed method
  • Measure output, quality, inputs or repeat visits
  • Separate measured results from customer observations

For longer use

Machinery hire

Operate selected machinery over a longer period on your own sites, subject to availability and hire terms.

  • Useful when several sites or conditions need testing
  • More operating time for your own team
  • Delivery, collection and setup options can be discussed
  • Ask about hire-to-buy where applicable

What happens next

From site problem to a useful demonstration

A detailed first enquiry saves time and helps Kersten assess the right equipment, location and format before suggesting dates.

01

Describe the job

Provide the surface, current problem, area or route, location and the result your team needs.

02

Confirm suitability

Kersten reviews the machine, attachment, carrier, site access, representative material and practical constraints.

03

Agree the format

Discuss the most practical location, attendees, date, duration, logistics and any applicable costs.

04

Review the result

Compare the outcome with your success measures and decide whether the next step is a quote, hire or trial.

Kersten UBS weed brush preparing a footpath for a surface maintenance project

Prepare a representative test area

  • Choose an area that reflects the normal surface and material, rather than the easiest section.
  • Leave representative weeds, moss, soil, debris or other material in place where practical.
  • Identify gates, kerbs, slopes, parked vehicles, pedestrians, noise limits and other access constraints.
  • Invite the people who will operate, supervise, specify or approve the equipment.
  • For mounted equipment, provide the carrier make, model, linkage, PTO and hydraulic details.
  • Agree one or two simple success measures before the machine starts work.

Why test on a real task?

Project evidence shows what a defined comparison can reveal

These examples use genuine project images and retain their original evidence labels. They are not promises of the result another site will achieve.

Measured comparison Veolia path edging comparison using manual and Kersten mechanical methods

Veolia path edging

The project comparison estimated machine payback after 81 miles and completion in about half the time.

The original trial compared a Kersten UBS 16 and weed brush with manual path-edge work. Operator effort was reported separately from the calculated time and cost comparison.

Rejuvo footpath preparation

Rejuvo reported clearing 500 to 1,000 metres of heavily soiled footpath per day with one operator.

This is customer-reported productivity from Rejuvo's operating conditions. It is presented as operational experience, not a guaranteed output for every site.

Measured field trial Bracknell Integrated Weed Management Trial project artwork

Bracknell IWM Trial

Mechanical extraction before the first pesticide application reduced active substance use by 49% across five comparable sites.

This is a first-season measured result from June 2026. One site was excluded from the comparison because baseline surface conditions were not comparable.

Frequently asked questions

Planning a Kersten machinery demonstration

Do I need to know which machine I want?

No. Describe the task, surface, material, site size, access and desired result. Kersten can then discuss the most relevant machine, attachment or treatment method.

Can a demonstration take place on our site?

Request your preferred location and provide the postcode. Kersten will review the machine, travel, access, site suitability, availability and any applicable costs before confirming the most practical arrangement.

Are demonstrations free?

This page does not promise a free demonstration. Any costs can depend on location, equipment, transport, attendance, duration and the format required. Kersten will confirm the position before arrangements are made.

What information is needed for a tractor or vehicle attachment?

Provide the carrier make and model, attachment or linkage type, PTO speed and direction where relevant, hydraulic flow and pressure where known, lift capacity, required working width and photographs of the mounting area if available.

What is the difference between a demonstration and a measured trial?

A demonstration is usually a focused assessment of suitability, setup and result. A measured trial starts with a defined baseline and comparison method, then records agreed outcomes such as output, inputs, finish or repeat treatment need.

Can we hire the machine after seeing it demonstrated?

Kersten has a machinery hire fleet covering several applications. Availability, machine choice, delivery, collection and hire terms must be confirmed separately through the machinery hire route.

What does the machine need to prove on your site?

Tell Kersten about the task, surface, location, carrier and decision you need to make. The team can then discuss the most relevant demonstration, measured trial or hire route.
