Lehner 12 V spreading technology
One spreader platform. Four levels of control and capacity.
Compare compact mounted POLARO spreaders, electronic and app-controlled dosing, and higher-capacity M/L/XL load-bed systems for winter maintenance and granular material application.
Professional winter and granular spreading
12 V spreaders that turn an existing vehicle into a controlled application platform.
Lehner’s POLARO family uses an independent 12 V drive for the spreading disc and material-feed system. That means the spreader can be fitted to a broad range of carriers without relying on a PTO or hydraulic drive.
The right model is determined by four practical questions: how much material the route requires, how precisely the dose must be controlled, whether speed-dependent adjustment is needed, and how much payload and mounting space the carrier provides.
Choose the operating system first
Which POLARO control level fits the work?
The hopper size controls route capacity. The control package determines how the operator changes application rate and how consistently the spreader responds as conditions and vehicle speed change.
POLARO manual dosing
For users who want robust 12 V spreading with manual material-rate adjustment and in-cab working-width control.
- Lowest-complexity option
- Good for repeatable, familiar routes
- 70, 110, 170 and 250 L
POLARO E electronic dosing
For frequent professional use where spreading width and material dosage need to be changed conveniently from the driving position.
- Electronic rate adjustment
- One-sided spreading capability
- 70, 110, 170 and 250 L
POLARO E LISA and AUTO-DOSIS
For app-led operation and compatible speed-dependent dosing, particularly useful where routes include frequent speed changes.
- Smartphone-based control
- Saved settings and driving mode
- Current functionality varies by model

POLARO universal spreaders
Manual dosing: simple, robust route control.
Best where the material and route are consistent, the operator is comfortable setting the outlet manually, and electronic dose changes are not essential.
Lehner POLARO 70 — manual dosing
Best suited to ATVs, quads and compact carriers working on footpaths, entrances and smaller car parks.
Lehner POLARO 110 — manual dosing
A balanced size for UTVs, compact tractors and pickups covering mixed paths, yards and medium car parks.
Lehner POLARO 170 — manual dosing
For longer municipal, estate and contractor routes where fewer refills matter but simple manual rate setting is preferred.
Lehner POLARO 250 — manual dosing
The largest universal mounted hopper for higher-output car parks, industrial estates and road-maintenance rounds.
POLARO E
Electronic dosing: adjust application rate from the cab.
A stronger fit for professional winter routes where surface type, material requirement or route width changes during the shift.
Lehner POLARO E 70 — electronic dosing
Compact electronic control for narrow routes where the operator needs to alter material rate from the driving position.
Lehner POLARO E 110 — electronic dosing
A strong all-round choice for pickups, compact tractors and utility vehicles covering varied surfaces and route widths.
Lehner POLARO E 170 — electronic dosing
For frequent winter-service work where repeatable in-cab dosing and useful hopper capacity are both priorities.
Lehner POLARO E 250 — electronic dosing
High-capacity electronic spreading for large depots, campuses, industrial estates and contractor routes.
LISA app and automatic dosing options
App-led control for routes with changing vehicle speed.
LISA removes the need to install a conventional control panel and cable in the cab. Compatible AUTO-DOSIS configurations can adjust material output in relation to travel speed.
Lehner POLARO E LISA 70
A compact app-controlled listing for operators who want a clean installation and smartphone-based adjustment.
Lehner POLARO E LISA 110
Well matched to variable-speed routes where automatic dose adjustment can improve consistency across paths and car parks.
Lehner POLARO E LISA 170
A practical professional setup for mixed-speed municipal, estate and contractor routes needing more capacity.
Lehner POLARO E LISA 250
The Kersten-listed high-capacity app-control option for extensive routes; confirm the current control package when specifying.
POLARO M, L and XL
Higher-capacity spreading for vehicles with a loading bed.
These models use a screw conveyor and automatic vibrator to maintain material flow. They are selected around loading-bed dimensions, available payload and the amount of salt or grit required between refills.
Compact dimensions for smaller municipal vehicles and road sweepers; suitable where load-bed space and payload are limited.
For medium load-bed carriers and longer routes. An extension can increase capacity where the vehicle payload permits.
For high-payload pickups, trucks and utility vehicles covering large road, depot or estate networks.
Lehner POLARO M 220
Designed for small utility vehicles and road sweepers with a loading bed and suitable payload.
Lehner POLARO L 380
For UTVs, pickups and compact municipal vehicles needing substantially greater salt capacity and route coverage.
Lehner POLARO XL 550
The largest listed POLARO for pickups, trucks and high-payload utility vehicles covering extensive winter-service routes.
Choose by carrier and route
Start with what the vehicle can safely carry.
Hopper volume alone is not the selection criterion. Include the spreader, bracket, hopper contents, electrical supply and any vehicle load limits in the specification.
ATV and quad
POLARO 70 is the natural starting point for narrow access, paths and compact routes.
UTV and RTV
110 or 170 L universal models suit many utility vehicles; M 220 is an option for suitable loading beds.
Pickup and 4×4
110–250 L mounted products or L/XL load-bed models, depending on payload and route demand.
Compact tractor
Universal models offer straightforward mounting without PTO drive; check bracket, visibility and electrical routing.
Municipal vehicle
M, L or XL can deliver greater route range where load-bed size and payload permit.
Build the complete winter fleet
Spreading treats ice. Ploughs and snow blowers move the snow first.
POLARO spreaders are one part of Kersten UK’s winter-maintenance range. Match the clearing method to snowfall depth, route width, available carrier and where the displaced snow can safely go.
Clear roads, yards, car parks and access routes.
Snow ploughs give fast, controlled clearing where there is room to windrow or push snow to the edge. Kersten supplies solutions for compact tractors, UTVs, pickups, 4×4s and suitable highway vehicles.
Explore snow ploughsMove deeper snow away from confined or heavily drifted routes.
Snow blowers collect and discharge snow clear of the working path, making them valuable where banks, repeated ploughing or restricted storage space would otherwise narrow the route.

Select the vehicle make, model and mounting position. The finder opens in winter mode and shows the currently recorded plough or spreader route, including supporting brackets and infrastructure where held.
Why the POLARO platform works
Designed around consistent material flow and operator control.
Control from the driving position
Working width and, on electronic versions, material dosage can be adjusted without stopping the route.
Independent disc and feed drives
Separate motors allow the spreading pattern and material feed to be managed independently.
Built for winter exposure
Stainless-steel components and protected electrical systems are used across the range for salt and grit environments.
Adjustable spreading width
Move between narrow path treatment and broad car-park coverage while working.
Multiple hopper sizes
Match the refill interval to route length without overloading a smaller carrier.
Material flexibility
Selected models can handle salt, grit, sand and fertiliser, subject to particle size and agitator specification.
Before quotation
Confirm the complete vehicle-and-spreader installation.
A reliable specification combines route demand with the carrier’s physical and electrical limits.
