John Deere 1026R with a Kersten KM 13045 H front sweeper

Attachments for John Deere 1 Series · 1026R

Compact tractor.
Full-time site tool.

Tractor-mounted mower on a John Deere tractor

Grass, banks & rough cutting

Flail & rotary mowers

Rear mounted · 540 rpm PTO

Choose a mounted mower for rougher grass, banks and areas the mid deck can’t reach.

Flail mowers handle longer, rougher growth and leave a finer finish; rotary mowers suit regular cutting.

Choose by width and weight to suit the limited Category 1 hitch and the 1026R’s rear lift capacity.

Choose the system before the individual parts

A linkage lifts.
A PTO or hydraulic supply powers.

For most front attachments, the complete installation is:

1026R tractor→ Front linkage or Quick-Tach→ PTO / hydraulic supply→ ABR bracket→ Attachment

The linkage provides the lift and coupling. The ABR bracket connects the attachment to that coupling. The drive system provides the working power. Buying one does not automatically provide the others.

Two front-mounting routes. John Deere Quick-Tach takes the ABR 45 US- bracket, as in our 1026R case study. For heavier attachments, the dedicated FL JD 1026R Cat 0 front linkage lifts 980 kg and takes the ABR 45 KD bracket.

Does this suit other 1 Series tractors?

The FL JD 1026R front linkage is listed for the 1026R only. Other 1 Series tractors, such as the 1025R or 1023E, may still take Quick-Tach attachments or rear PTO equipment. Send your model, serial number and photographs so the complete installation can be checked.

1. Rear PTO: avoid a front conversion

The 1026R has a 540 rpm rear PTO and a limited Category 1 three-point hitch as standard. The HKM40 rear sweeper, WE gravel renovator and rear mowers work from the back of the tractor.

2. Front hydraulics: keep the mower deck

Our 1026R case study runs the KM 13045 H and its hydraulic-emptying collector from one double-acting tractor service, with variable brush speed. For a dedicated 30 l/min supply, a rear PTO hydraulic pack is the alternative.

3. Front mechanical PTO: maximum power

A front PTO kit takes drive forward from the 2,100 rpm mid PTO. It gives the most power for heavy remedial work, but the mid mower deck has to be removed. Match the attachment’s gearbox, speed and rotation.

Check the lift capacity

The FL JD 1026R linkage lists 980 kg lifting force at the coupling point. Allow for the attachment, bracket, a full collector, water tanks or gas bottles when specifying the complete setup.

Build the tractor-side installation

Linkage, bracket and power options, explained.

These are the main tractor-side components. Ask us to specify the matching linkage, drive and bracket around your 1026R and attachment.

The FL JD 1026R linkage needs its Cat 0 A-frame extension kit, listed alongside it. For a rear hydraulic pack, the 5 m front hose extension set is a separate component.

What happens to the material matters.

Collect it or leave a windrow?

Open sweeping moves material aside. A collector removes it from the site, useful where soil and organic debris would otherwise return to the surface. Allow for the weight of a full collector.

Compare sweeper systems →

Clean the edges as well

A gully brush draws loose material from kerbs and edges into the main brush’s path. Established vegetation may need a weed brush first, followed by collection of the loosened debris.

Explore weed brushes →

Plan for dry, dusty work

Consider brush speed, a debris guard and water suppression. Water binds fine particles but does not replace collecting the material, and its weight needs including in the complete setup.

Choose around the material →

Questions before you choose

What can a 1026R do with Kersten attachments?

With a front linkage or Quick-Tach and the right drive, a 1026R becomes a compact tool carrier with lift, lower and angling functions. It can sweep, blow leaves, treat weeds thermally, renovate gravel, clear snow and cut rougher grass, alongside its own mowing deck work.

Can I keep the mid mower deck fitted?

Yes, with hydraulic drive. The KM 13045 H in our case study runs from the tractor’s own hydraulic service, so the auto-connect deck stays on. A front PTO kit takes its drive from the mid PTO, so the deck has to come off.

Tractor hydraulics or a rear PTO hydraulic pack?

The 1026R’s own hydraulics can drive the KM 13045 H through one double-acting service, with variable brush speed; this gives less power than PTO but suits maintenance sweeping. A rear PTO hydraulic pack gives a dedicated 30 l/min supply where more performance is needed.

Quick-Tach or the dedicated front linkage?

If Quick-Tach is fitted, the ABR 45 US- bracket is usually the quickest route. The FL JD 1026R Cat 0 linkage, with its 980 kg lift, suits heavier attachments and uses the ABR 45 KD bracket. Tell us which you have.

What warranty do the attachments carry?

Kersten attachments for the 1026R come with a commercial two-year warranty.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send the exact model, year or serial number, photos of the front and rear of the tractor, whether Quick-Tach or a front linkage is fitted, which hydraulic services you have, and the job and access width. Include any collection, angling or dust-control options you need.
