Rotary mowers for compact tractors
Choose the cut.
Keep your tractor working.
Maintain lawns with a Matev front deck, or adapt to changing row widths with a Zanon rear mower. Choose around the finish, access and power your tractor can provide.

Matev front decks: choose width, frame and finish.
For parks, estates and maintained grass, start with the working width and where the clippings should go. Each link below opens the specific UK product configuration.

Matev · front rotary mower
MOW-H/M 190
Choose it when: Open grass areas justify a larger deck and your tractor has the required capacity.
Prices are for the linked mower listings, ex VAT. Confirm the drive kit, mounting adaptation, shaft, insert and any options in the quotation. A tractor or collector is not included merely because it appears in the photograph.
Kersten uses MOW-H/M model names; its configuration descriptions also refer to MOW-FM. Confirm the supplied version. Model numbers 140, 160 and 190 are not the exact cutting widths.
For varying row widths
ZRV: one mower, an adjustable mowing pass.
Zanon · rear-mounted rotary mower
Change the width to suit the row.
The ZRV uses hydraulic width adjustment for areas that alternate between narrower passages and wider mowing spaces. Kersten lists it for grass, twigs and pruning waste, particularly in vineyards and orchards.
Listed equipment includes height-adjustable front wheels and a rear roller, two-sided discharge, a PTO shaft with clutch and freewheel, and protective chains.

Published ZRV requirements: rear Category 1 mounting, 540 rpm drive and tractors in the 30–70 hp range. Hydraulic width adjustment does not mean the cutting rotor is hydraulically driven; confirm the supplied drive arrangement and hydraulic connections.
Use the tractor’s lift capacity, stability, PTO and mounting details to check the complete combination. Cutting width is not the machine’s overall access width. Ask for current availability and a model-specific quotation.
Where should the clippings go?
Choose the finish around the maintenance job.
Side discharge
Direct the cut material to the side. Choose the discharge route around beds, paths and neighbouring areas that need to stay clear of clippings.
Rear discharge
Deposit material behind the deck. Compare this setup where the side-discharge arrangement would be inconvenient. The 140 and 160 UK configurations above have direct rear-discharge listings.
Mulching
The correct insert and blades recut the clippings and return them to the lawn. Choose it where regular mowing can keep the volume manageable and the maintenance plan permits material to remain.
Mow and collect
Specify a compatible collection nozzle, hose and collector to remove cuttings in the same pass. The collector, turbine drive, mounting and tipping arrangement need to be matched to the tractor and deck.
Compare mounted collectors →Interchangeable inserts provide flexibility; the listed mower price does not mean every insert, blade set or collection component is included. Confirm the complete conversion kit for the supplied deck.
Useful details on a working mower
See the deck. Set the height. Reach the blades.
Front-deck visibility
With the cutting deck ahead of the tractor, you can follow its position as you approach edges and obstacles. Choose overall width and turning space as carefully as cutting width.
Height and ground following
Matev’s freely pivoting wheels support manoeuvrability, with support rollers helping reduce scalping. Set the height to suit the surface; the 160 hydraulic frame has a different height range from the fixed frame.
Routine access
Matev lists a folding deck for cleaning and blade changes, with hydraulic lifting available on specified configurations. Its PE cover is designed to reduce noise and vibration.
Specify the complete tractor setup
A deck that fits is more than the right horsepower.
Tractor and mounting
Provide the full tractor model, front linkage or rear three-point details, lift capacity, tyres and ballast. Match the mower’s adaptation to the carrier.
Power and rotation
Match PTO speed, direction, connection and shaft. Matev listings describe 1,000 / 2,000 rpm configurations; the ZRV listings specify 540 rpm.
Hydraulics
Separate hydraulic frame lifting or width adjustment from hydraulic cutting drive. Confirm services, oil flow and pressure for the actual drive kit.
The full mowing system
Itemise deck, mounting, drive, shaft, selected insert and blades. Include the nozzle, hose, collector and tipping setup when collecting.
Matev’s current MOW-FM guidance starts at 23 hp for the 140 and 160 and 34 hp for the 190. These figures are a starting point; confirm the UK configuration’s complete power, weight and fitment requirements.
For the 140, Kersten publishes a minimum weight of 235 kg while Matev’s current figure is 202 kg without accessories. Compare quotation weights on the same basis.

Your rotary-mower questions answered.
Are 140, 160 and 190 the exact cutting widths?
No. The published Matev cutting widths are 137, 157 and 187 cm respectively. Check overall dimensions separately for gateways, storage and transport.
Does a hydraulic lifting frame mean hydraulic cutting drive?
No. Lifting the frame and driving the blades are different functions. Confirm whether the quoted deck uses a mechanical PTO drive or a hydraulic cutting drive, and match the required services.
Are all discharge inserts and the collector included?
Do not assume that. The links identify particular configurations. Ask for the selected insert, blades, mounting, drive kit and shaft to be itemised. Collection also requires a matched nozzle, hose and collector system.
Can any compact tractor use these mowers?
No. Match mounting, lift capacity, stability, PTO or hydraulic power, speed and rotation. Horsepower alone does not establish compatibility.
Does the ZRV have one fixed cutting width?
No. Kersten publishes variable cutting ranges of 104–134 cm, 120–164 cm and 134–184 cm for the ZRV 1100, 1250 and 1400. Confirm the supplied model and overall dimensions.
What does the Matev 160 harrow option do?
Matev lists an optional 44-tine lawn harrow for its current MOW-FM 160, intended to work thatch, moss and clippings towards the surface. Ask whether the kit fits the supplied UK deck; it is not included in the mower prices above.
