Kersten SCHN 60 · mounted snow ploughs
Keep your site moving
when the snow arrives.
Put a suitable tractor, mower or utility vehicle to work on winter routes. A 60 cm-high curved blade, sprung break-back protection and six widths help you build the right snow-clearing setup.
Choose your working width
The SCHN 60 range, at a glance.
Start with your carrier width and the narrowest part of the route. The plough should clear the wheel tracks when angled, fit through access points and suit the carrier’s lifting capacity and traction.
One blade family. Choose the width that fits the job.
Hydraulic angling lets you change the discharge direction from the seat. The series also lists manual angling: specify the required arrangement when ordering.
Blade height describes the plough, not a guaranteed snow depth it can clear. Snow condition, traction, carrier capacity and working method all affect performance.

Clear routes with the machine you already own
Make winter work part of the maintenance round.
Access roads and car parks
A front plough moves snow away from the travelled route. Plan where it will be deposited so parking bays, entrances and drains remain usable.
Paths and site connections
Choose a width that can work between obstacles and through gateways. Check coverage with the blade angled, as well as straight ahead.
A seasonal attachment change
A correctly specified front mounting arrangement allows a suitable carrier to take on snow clearance alongside its other maintenance tasks.
The details that matter in winter
Control the snow and the blade’s contact with the ground.
Give the blade room to trip
The sprung break-back mechanism lets the blade yield on contact with an obstruction; two return springs restore its position. It helps reduce impact loads, but does not replace a route inspection and controlled working speed.
Set the clearance for the surface
Adjustable skids support the blade and help set its working height. The right setting balances clearance with avoiding excessive edge contact or picking up loose surface material.
Maintain the working edge
A replaceable scraper edge keeps the wearing part serviceable. Match its material, length and fixing pattern to the actual plough and surface; replace it before wear compromises the installation.
The curve does useful work. The rolled steel mouldboard guides snow up and across the blade towards the discharge side. Angling helps form a windrow, so allow space alongside the route rather than repeatedly pushing the same bank forward.
Which bracket suits your carrier?
Build the complete mounting and control arrangement.
The mounting bracket connects the plough to the carrier’s lifting system. Most installations need both a suitable front linkage or lift arrangement and the correct ABR-SCHN bracket.
Lift and support
The carrier’s linkage or lift system raises the plough for transport and places it for work. Specify lift capacity at the attachment position, front axle limits, ballast and ground following for the complete fitted assembly.
Explore tractor front linkages →Hydraulics for the controls
The series lists 20 L/min for the hydraulic arrangement. Confirm available flow, pressure, valve functions, couplings and hoses for lifting and angling.
The carrier pushes the snow: this plough has no rotating implement to drive from a PTO. Manual angling is listed as an alternative; confirm the separate lifting arrangement.

A bracket listing is not a universal fit. Send the exact carrier model and photographs of the existing linkage. Blade width, lift capacity, attachment geometry and hydraulic control requirements must be checked together.
Support and visibility options
Finish the setup for the way you work.
Replace the edge, not the whole plough
Order consumables for your exact blade.
Keep the wearing part ready for winter.
Match the blade model, serial number, edge material and hole pattern before ordering. The listings include urethane edges; the 180 cm listing describes a Robalon plastic scraper edge.
Confirm the material supplied for your installation rather than assuming every length uses an identical compound.

Plan the route before the first snowfall
Clear snow first. Manage ice as well.
Inspect and mark
Identify raised covers, kerbs, ramps and vulnerable surfaces. Measure gateways and record the narrowest sections.
Choose the discharge side
Plan windrows and snow-storage areas. Keep exits, drains and pedestrian crossings clear.
Work within the setup
Set the skids, angle and working speed to suit the surface and snow. Follow the carrier and attachment instructions.
Address remaining ice
A plough moves snow but does not remove every icy layer. Include suitable treatment and follow-up checks.

Before you order
Your SCHN 60 questions answered.
Does SCHN 60 mean a 60 cm working width?
No. It identifies the 60 cm blade height. This range has 130, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 cm blade widths.
Is the mounting bracket included in the blade price?
No. These blade listings are without the ABR bracket. Specify the bracket, front linkage or lift system, controls, hoses and fitting as part of the complete quotation.
How do I choose the blade width?
Check your carrier’s wheel-track coverage with the blade angled, the narrowest access point, room to manoeuvre and available snow-storage space. Then confirm the fitted weight, lift capacity, axle limits and traction.
Does the plough need a front PTO?
The blade has no rotating implement and does not need PTO drive for snow clearance. A suitable lifting and mounting arrangement is required, with hydraulic services for the specified hydraulic controls.
Can I have manual angling?
The series lists hydraulic or manual angling and asks that the required arrangement be specified. Discuss how the plough will be lifted separately; confirm the actual configuration and price in your quotation.
What hydraulics are required?
Kersten lists 20 L/min for the hydraulic arrangement. The exact installation also needs compatible pressure, valve functions, couplings and hoses for lifting and angling; send your carrier details for confirmation.
Does spring protection make it safe to hit obstacles?
No. The sprung mechanism helps reduce impact loads, but hidden covers, kerbs and other obstructions still need to be identified. Use a controlled speed and follow the operating instructions.
Will one plough leave the site free from ice?
Snow clearance and ice treatment are separate tasks. Assess remaining ice or compacted material and include suitable treatment, a spreader where appropriate, and follow-up inspections.
Are all replacement edges the same material?
No assumption should be made from width alone. The current listings describe urethane edges and a Robalon plastic edge for 180 cm. Confirm material, part code and fixing pattern against the blade and serial number.
Can it fit my ride-on mower or utility vehicle?
Suitable installations exist, including Kersten’s Kubota RTV and LM Trac case studies. Fitment depends on the exact carrier, linkage, bracket, controls and capacities. Send the full model and existing mounting details before ordering.
