For most front attachments, the complete installation is:

X900 tractor→ Front linkage→ PTO / hydraulic supply→ ABR bracket→ Attachment

The linkage provides the lift and coupling. The ABR bracket connects the attachment to that coupling. The drive system provides the working power. Buying one does not automatically provide the others.

Two front-linkage routes. The Matev Cat 0 front linkage takes Kersten’s ABR 45 KD bracket. If your tractor already has John Deere Quick-Tach, the ABR 45 US- bracket adapts KM45 sweepers to it.

Which X900 models does each linkage suit?

The FL JD X700 kit (Matev FPS-JD X700/X900) lists the X740, X748, X749, X750, X754, X758, X940, X948, X949 and X950. The X950R needs its own kit, FL JD X950R, which has an optional front PTO shaft. Send your model, serial number and photographs so the complete installation can be checked.

1. Rear PTO: avoid a front conversion

With the optional rear PTO and three-point hitch, the HKM40 rear sweeper and WE gravel renovator work from the back of the tractor. This can be the simplest route when the rear working position suits the site.

2. Front hydraulics: add a dedicated supply

The KM 13045 H needs 20 l/min of continuous oil flow. A rear PTO hydraulic pack gives it an independent 30 l/min supply, piped to the front through an extension hose set.

3. Front mechanical PTO: match speed and rotation

Mechanically driven front attachments need a front PTO arrangement matched to the attachment’s gearbox, shaft, speed and rotation. Confirm what your X900 model offers before choosing a PTO-driven front attachment.

Check the lift capacity

The Matev X700/X900 linkage lists 420 kg lifting force at the coupling point. Allow for the attachment, bracket, a full collector, water tanks or gas bottles when specifying the complete setup.

For the X950R, use the FL JD X950R front linkage (£1,695 ex VAT). For a rear hydraulic pack, the 5 m front hose extension set is a separate component.

What happens to the material matters.

Collect it or leave a windrow?

Open sweeping moves material aside. A collector removes it from the site, useful where soil and organic debris would otherwise return to the surface. Allow for the weight of a full collector.

Clean the edges as well

A gully brush draws loose material from kerbs and edges into the main brush’s path. Established vegetation may need a weed brush first, followed by collection of the loosened debris.

Plan for dry, dusty work

Consider brush speed, a debris guard and water suppression. Water binds fine particles but does not replace collecting the material, and its weight needs including in the complete setup.

What can an X900 do with Kersten attachments?

With a front linkage and the right drive, an X900 becomes a compact tool carrier with lift, lower and angling functions. It can sweep, blow leaves, treat weeds thermally, renovate gravel, clear snow and cut rougher grass, alongside its own mowing deck work.

Can the X948 drive a hydraulic sweeper on its own hydraulics?

The KM 13045 H needs 20 l/min of continuous flow. The configurator uses a dedicated rear PTO hydraulic pack, which supplies 30 l/min independently of the tractor’s own lift and steering hydraulics. Confirm your tractor’s rear PTO and hitch before ordering.

Matev linkage or John Deere Quick-Tach?

Both can carry a KM45 sweeper. The Matev Cat 0 linkage uses the ABR 45 KD bracket; John Deere Quick-Tach uses the ABR 45 US- bracket. If Quick-Tach is already fitted, it is usually the quickest route. Tell us which you have.

Does the X950R use the same linkage?

No. The X950R has its own front linkage kit, FL JD X950R, with an optional front PTO shaft. The FL JD X700 kit lists the X940, X948, X949 and X950.

What warranty do the attachments carry?

Kersten attachments for the X900 series come with a commercial two-year warranty.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send the exact X900 model, year or serial number, photos of the front and rear of the tractor, whether a rear PTO, rear hitch or Quick-Tach is fitted, and the job and access width. Include any collection, angling or dust-control options you need.
