Both models use an internal orbital motor and duplex chain drive, with adjustable support wheels and manual left/right angling. Choose the width against your carrier, gateways and working position.

Choose it when: you work through tighter entrances or need a compact sweeping width. Check that the angled brush still covers the carrier’s tyre track.

A useful next job for your loader

See the brush at work
Front mounting lets you approach corners and edges with the brush ahead of the carrier. It also avoids driving over loose material before the first sweeping pass.
Use hydraulic implement power
The orbital motor drives the main roller through a duplex chain. A suitable hydraulic service supplies brush power, while flow control helps set brush speed for the material and surface.
Keep debris from becoming soil
A collector removes loosened dirt, leaves and organic material. Regular removal helps limit the layer that retains moisture, obstructs drainage and gives weeds somewhere to establish.
Specify the whole connection
Make the mounting and oil circuit work together.
A loader’s attachment plate alone does not establish compatibility. Match the mounting geometry, float and hydraulic circuit to the sweeper before ordering.
Carrier and mount
Confirm make, model, attachment interface, lift capacity and the correct sweeper frame or bracket. Include the loaded collector and side brush in the capacity check.
Hydraulic supply
Current product pages recommend 20 L/min. Agree operating pressure, continuous duty, couplings and brush direction with Kersten.
Control and return
The product listings require a control valve and an unpressurised return into the tank. Confirm a suitable return circuit rather than assuming any auxiliary ports will do.
Ground following
Set the support wheels and mounting float so the brush follows the surface. Avoid using the loader to force the roller or collector into the ground.
Using a tractor? Plan the chain as tractor → front linkage → hydraulic power → suitable mounting bracket → sweeper. A bracket is normally needed between linkage and attachment; many Kersten carrier brackets begin with ABR. This hydraulic range does not require a mechanical PTO to drive its main roller.
Older category and catalogue material quotes 15 L/min. The current FKM 10040 H and FKM 12540 H product specifications recommend 20 L/min; confirm the requirement for the supplied machine and selected options.
Collect, edge clean and control from the seat
Build the setup around the job.
Collection is useful when the job is to remove debris from the site. A gully brush brings material out from kerbs and edges into the main roller’s path.
Collector boxes
Match the box to the sweeper width. The photograph shows the 125 cm collector; the 100 cm version is listed separately below.
SSB 10040 · 100 cm
Mechanical emptying. The listing requires a separate splash guard; confirm the matching SPA 100 and supplied contents.
SSB 12540 · 125 cm
Manual rope emptying. Linked by the FKM 12540 H product page; the collector listing includes an SPA 125 splash guard.
ASH 5040 H · 50 cm gully brush
Hydraulic edge brush with adjustable speed control. Choose it for kerb lines and awkward edges where the main roller cannot reach. Confirm the hydraulic arrangement alongside the main brush.
MP-MR-ST · brush speed control
The required control valve listed for these hydraulic sweepers. Specify it with a suitable tank return and the carrier’s hydraulic services.
HB-SSB-HFKM · collector opening
Hydraulic opening kit explicitly listed for both FKM 40 models. Requires a suitable double-acting service; the collector itself is separate.
HSZ-180 · hydraulic angling
Change the sweeping direction from the operating position. Listed as an option for both models and requires a double-acting hydraulic service.
Sweeping without collection? Use the correct front brush guard to help control thrown material. SPA 100 for the 100 cm sweeper → or SPA 125, linked for the 125 cm sweeper →. Confirm guard inclusion with the selected collector.

What flow does the FKM 40 need?
Current product pages recommend 20 L/min for both widths. Older category and catalogue material quotes 15 L/min. Ask Kersten to confirm flow, pressure and continuous-duty requirements for your supplied model and accessory combination.
Can I connect it to any loader auxiliary circuit?
No. The listed setup requires a control valve and an unpressurised return into the tank. Confirm the circuit, couplings, brush direction and carrier cooling capacity before connection.
Is the collector included?
The sweeper and collectors are shown as separate listings. Specify the matching width, splash guard and emptying arrangement. The 125 cm collector listing includes its guard; the 100 cm listing requires a guard separately.
Can I operate the options from the seat?
Hydraulic angling and collector opening are optional, and each requires a suitable double-acting service. Plan the controls for the full installation, including the hydraulic gully brush if selected.
Does it fit directly to a front linkage?
A suitable carrier frame or attachment bracket is normally needed. Confirm geometry and float as well as hydraulic power. On tractors, many Kersten attachment brackets use an ABR code.
Which replacement brush should I order?
Match width, roller diameter, hub, part number and serial number to the machine. The product pages link consumables, but a shared image or similar model name is not enough to confirm fitment.
