How to perfectly deal with weed and heavy soil on (m)any surfaces

Weed control is one of the main issues of our customers. That's why we continue to find the perfect solution for it.

We visited a site this week with some typical issues of unswept kerb lines now so compacted that a road sweeper can’t move it or the weeds now growing in it.

What does weed or soil do to your surfaces?

Soil often forms on many surfaces from various deposits of detritus. In addition to freeze-thaw cycles, the consequences can also be the growth of even larger weeds and plants. Since moisture also encourages weeds, the longer it takes to clear the soil, the harder it becomes to work with.

How to provide Kerb Appeal?

A clean surface provides safety for pedestrians, wheelchairs, cyclists and other users, or simply keeps the path or lane usable for cars. To achieve that aim you may have to do a bit more than spraying the weeds such as removing the soil in which they are growing.

To make things easier we can use the Kersten WeedBrush in combination with the UBS II 13 or the K-Series two wheel tractors to narrow down the types of weeds that are likely to appear, making soil build-up much easier to control.

The Kersten professional mounted UB WeedBrushes are perfect for quickly removing soil build-ups and weeds. They are fitted with easily replaceable VersaBrushes. The heads can be angled and the height adjusted, ensuring a clean finish during several operations.

As mentioned before the Kersten WeedBrush can be used in many combinations. On a UBS Hydro II 13 with hydraulic drive to the wheels and a direct mechanical drive to the attachments, it is perfectly suited for lengthy, heavier tasks as in soil and weed removal even on artificial surfaces.

As one can see in the previous pictures, the WeedBrush loosens the debris from the kerb edges. Afterwards the sweeper attachments can sweep with the gully brush accessory and collector. Due to lowest vibration ratings and large Honda Power engines, it can be used all day long.
