The Royal Cornwall Show is the county’s biggest annual event and is brim-full of exhibits and activities which offer so much in the way of entertainment, competition, information, shopping and all that’s best in food and farming. This year it treated us to two good weather days separated by a torrential rain day, but the turn out was great. 

Kersten were showing sweepers, weedbrushes and  HOAF infrared weedburners alongside our dealer, Vincent Tractors. Chemical free weed control is a major feature that catches people’s interest. Companies and homeowners alike are becoming more aware of chemical free weed control, but there is still a way to go. Putting chemicals down were pets and children play is not deemed a great idea. If the weeds/moss are killed the remaining detritus works wonderfully as a nutrient for the next growth.

By talking to people at the show, giving an example of a well-travelled path which had no moss or weeds. If this traffic is emulated by sweeping, there will be little or no weed growth. Simple solutions work, but in the UK most companies are reactive rather than proactive.  

The dry days were good, for opening peoples eyes to another way to maintain property, sweep it not spray it; head to a greener future with Kersten.
