Case Study: Snow Plough to fit a Kubota EK1-261 Compact Tractor
The EK1-261 is a brand new model of compact tractor for Kubota, described as the perfect entry level tractor. Here's a perfect snow plough and linkage to go with it.
Kubota EK1-261 with Kersten Snow Plough
The EK1-261 is quite a new tractor, but likely to fill a large market with smaller sites such as sports facilities and small schools. Kersten has developed a front linkage to match the tractor, onto which a range of attachments can be installed.
With 20 l/min oil flow, there is enough to operate a small sweeper, and also the plough we are showing in this article.
The Kersten SCHN 13545 K Snow plough is light weight and easy to manoeuvre on the tractor front linkage. It is available with skids, or a set of heavy duty castor wheels, depending on the application. This machine was supplied with hydraulic angling, so the plough can be adjusted from the seat.
Alternatively the plough could be manually angled.
The items used in this project were as follows:
- SCHN 13545 FK ABR Snow Plough
- ABR-SCHN-KD Plough connecting bracket
- FKBH - Front Linkage for Kubota EK1-261
The KM 45 series of sweepers could be used on the front of the tractor if desired.
Mounting a sweeper on the front of a tractor provides far greater manoeuvrability than mounting on the rear 3 point linkage and prevents driving over the material to be swept first, which could compact it under the tyres - making it harder to sweep..
However a rear mounted alternative for the Kubota EK1-261 series could be the HKM 12540 M
Kersten sweepers are great at maintaining hard surfaces by removing detritus and debris which reduces weed growth and is fundamental to Integrated weed management.
