The 1400/1500 Series already has lift arms and a PTO, so it’s a cost-effective machine to carry PTO-driven attachments. Take the cutter deck off and fit a sweeper, weed brush, leaf blower or snow blower instead. It needs just two arms and a PTO shaft, with no hydraulics.
Fits the John Deere 1445, 1505, 1515, 1550, 1565, 1570, 1575, 1580 and 1585. Kersten attachments carry a commercial two-year warranty.

A mostly idle mower now sweeps a long drive and lane
The customer needed to clear moss, snow and mud from a long drive and lane. We fitted a KM 15045 M sweeper, PTO-driven, with only two arms and the PTO shaft to connect. Regular sweeping now stops moss and debris building up, reducing slips, punctures and freeze-thaw damage.

Two arms and a PTO shaft.
The attachment uses the same integral lift and PTO as your cutter deck. There’s no front linkage or hydraulic valve to add for the core range.
- Adjust the height wheels so the brush contacts the surface by about 50–60 mm.
- Move the pin in the adjusting arm to angle the sweeper, so debris goes to one side.
- Lower slowly, engage the PTO and drive slowly at mid-range engine speed. It sweeps better, makes the brush last longer and saves fuel.

No hydraulics needed
The 1400/1500 Series has no hydraulics as standard, so the sweeper, weed brush, leaf blower and snow blower all run from the PTO.
When you need a hydraulic kit
A sweeper collector that empties from the seat, or hydraulic angling on the snow blade, needs a John Deere hydraulic kit. If your mower already has one, tell us and we’ll widen the options.
Width and weight
The 1.5 m sweeper suits most sites. For heavy mud or grit, the 1.3 m version keeps the load on the front comfortable for the mower.

John Deere 1445, 1505, 1515, 1550, 1565, 1570, 1575, 1580 and 1585 outfront mowers. Own an earlier model, such as the 1435? Send us the model and serial number and we’ll confirm.
Questions before you order
Do I need hydraulics on my 1400 or 1500 Series mower?
No. The sweeper, weed brush, leaf blower and snow blower here are all PTO-driven, so they run on a standard 1400/1500 Series mower. You only need a John Deere hydraulic kit for a sweeper collector that empties from the seat, or for hydraulic angling on a snow blade.
How long does it take to swap from the deck to an attachment?
The cutter unit comes off and the attachment goes on in its place. Only the two lift arms and the PTO shaft connect, so once you’ve done it once it’s a straightforward job.
Which sweeper width should I choose?
The 1.5 m KM 15045 M suits most drives, lanes and car parks. If you’ll mainly sweep heavy mud or grit, the 1.3 m sweeper keeps the weight on the front down.
Do I need a collector or a brush guard?
Without a collector, the sweeper pushes debris to one side, and the GUSPL 15045 brush guard controls where it goes. A collector picks debris up instead, but emptying it from the seat needs a hydraulic kit.
Will these fit another outfront mower?
Often, yes. ABR brackets are also made for other outfront mowers, including Kubota’s equivalent, the F-Series front mowers such as the F3890. Send us the make, model and serial number and we’ll confirm.
What warranty do the attachments carry?
Kersten attachments come with a commercial two-year warranty.
