We are pleased to share that the Integrated Weed Management Conference 2025 was a resounding success. Yesterday’s event brought together a vibrant community of professionals committed to driving forward sustainable land management practices.
From live demonstrations by Kersten UK, showcasing the tools, equipment and techniques for delivering practical Integrated Weed Management on the ground, to the launch of Integrated Weed Management Reference Guide from Parks for London — a reference guide and templates designed to help councils and associations develop a standardised approach to Integrated Weed Management at both operational and policy levels.

Attendees also gained valuable insight from Cambridge City Council, who shared their journey toward becoming a chemical-free authority. Their step-by-step approach highlighted the importance of political support, strong community engagement, and data-led decision-making in securing funding and implementing change. Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs discussed the impact of the National Action Plan with attendees, outlining goals for the amenity sector and the importance of knowledge-sharing between councils to help overcome current limitations and improve uptake of Integrated Pest Management. Delegates also explored the latest in non-chemical weed control from Zasso Group, whose electricity weed management technology—offering new innovation for councils exploring chemical-free alternatives. Lantra unveiled a new training course to help councils and operators in selecting the right IWM equipment, providing clear guidance on the purpose and best use of each option, and raising awareness around planning and preventative measures.
The event concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion hosted by Bradley Tennant from International Greenkeepers For Hire, featuring panellists including John Moverley and Nick Mole from Pesticide Action Network UK. The session explored the complexities of glyphosate use—highlighting current gaps in safe handling, storage, and disposal—and examined how councils and associations can support government agencies in advancing a more robust and effective IWM strategy across the amenity sector.

We are proud to have hosted a day that sparked such important conversations. We hope that the conference has encouraged attendees to reflect on their existing operational approaches, review their policies, and explore new innovations that can support more sustainable, integrated weed management going forward.
