AniZen animal welfare brushes
Give animals a dedicated place to scratch — whenever they choose.
Robust fixed grooming brushes for cattle, horses, calves, sheep, goats and other livestock. No electric motor, no hydraulic connection and no rotating mechanism — just durable, replaceable polypropylene bristles positioned where the animals can use them.
Choose by animal and coverage
How much brushing surface do your animals need?
Start with the size of the animal and how much of the body you want the brush to reach. The AniZen range progresses from a compact straight brush to a larger double brush and then a curved C-shaped design for broader contact around the body.

40 cm brushing surface
AniZen Simple
A compact straight brush for straightforward self-grooming. Particularly useful where smaller animals need a dedicated scratching point without taking up much wall or pen space.
Calves · sheep · goats · smaller livestock
80 cm brushing surface
AniZen Double
Twice the straight brushing area of the Simple model, giving animals more room to work the head, neck and flanks against the bristles.
Mixed livestock · cattle · horses120 cm brushing surface
AniZen C
The curved option for larger animals. Its C-shaped arrangement gives access to a broader range of contact positions, including the head, flanks and back.
Cattle · bulls · horses · larger animalsSimple by design
A grooming point without adding another powered machine to the building.
AniZen brushes are rigid and stationary, so the animal controls how it rubs against them. The design avoids motors, gearboxes and power connections while still giving animals a purpose-built surface for scratching and grooming.
Available all day
Animals can approach the brush on their own schedule rather than waiting for an operator or powered cycle.
No electrical connection
Useful in yards, housing and external areas where running power to a grooming point would add cost or complexity.
Replace the wearing part
The polypropylene brush modules are interchangeable, so worn bristles do not mean replacing the complete structure.
Easy routine cleaning
With no drive mechanism around the brush, normal cleaning focuses on the bristles, frame and mounting points.
AniZen range
Choose the brush first, then choose how it is mounted.
Five main configurations cover compact wall mounting, larger wall or barrier installations and freestanding positions where there is no suitable structure nearby.
AniZen Simple · fixed support
Simple wall / barrier brush
The most compact AniZen option, using one eight-row brush module and a height-adjustable support for fixing to a suitable wall, barrier or post.
Choose it when: smaller animals need a straightforward scratching point or available installation space is limited.
AniZen Double · fixed support
Double wall / barrier brush
Two brush modules provide an 80 cm straight brushing area, giving larger animals and mixed groups more surface to work against.
Choose it when: you have a strong existing wall, barrier or post and want more brushing area than the Simple model.
AniZen Double · freestanding
Double brush on stand
The same 80 cm straight-brush concept on a heavy freestanding support, allowing the grooming point to be positioned away from a wall or fence.
Choose it when: the best place for the animals is in an open pen, yard or housing area without a suitable structure for wall mounting.
AniZen C · fixed support
C-shaped wall / barrier brush
The largest wall-mounted grooming option. Three brush modules form the distinctive curved profile so larger animals can contact the brush from more angles.
Choose it when: cattle or horses need broader access to the head, flanks and back from one fixed grooming point.
AniZen C · freestanding
C-shaped brush on stand
The full C-shaped brush on a galvanised floor-mounted support, giving more freedom to choose the grooming location and set the brush height and inclination to suit the animals.
Choose it when: you want the maximum AniZen brushing area but the preferred location is away from a suitable wall or barrier.
Installation route
Do you already have the right place to mount it?
The mounting decision is mostly about the building or enclosure you already have. A fixed support is compact and simple where a suitable structure exists; a floor-mounted stand gives more freedom over the grooming location.
Wall, barrier or post mounting
Best where there is a robust structure in the right place. Adjustable support slots help set the brush at a useful height for the target animals.
Freestanding floor mounting
Useful where the ideal grooming position is in an open area. The Double and C versions can be mounted to a floor-fixed stand with height adjustment.

Which AniZen should you start with?
Choose the closest animal group and installation route. This is a starting point; final height and mounting should be matched to your animals and site.
Start with the AniZen Simple.
For smaller livestock, the 40 cm fixed brush is the most compact way to provide a dedicated scratching point.

Planning the installation
Put the brush where animals can use it comfortably — not where it is simply easiest to bolt down.
Location, height and the space around the brush all affect how useful the installation will be. The aim is to make the grooming point easy to approach without turning it into an obstruction.
Choose a position animals can approach and leave without creating an avoidable bottleneck in a gate, feeding route or handling area.
Use the adjustable mounting or stand to suit the body size of the group using the brush.
Larger animals need enough space to reposition their head, shoulder and body against the bristles.
A freestanding Double or C brush can place the grooming point where it is most useful rather than forcing it onto the nearest wall.
Long-term ownership
The bristles are the wearing part — not the whole brush.
AniZen uses replaceable polypropylene brush modules based on Actisweep’s established brush-fibre system. When a section eventually wears, the brush module can be replaced instead of discarding the complete frame and mounting.
Eight rows provide approximately 40 cm of brushing surface.
Sixteen rows create approximately 80 cm of straight brushing area.
Twenty-four rows form approximately 120 cm of curved brushing surface.
Common questions
Animal brush FAQs
Which AniZen brush is best for calves, sheep or goats?
The 40 cm AniZen Simple is the natural starting point for smaller animals. If several sizes share the same area, the 80 cm Double gives more brushing surface and is a useful alternative.
Which brush should I consider for adult cattle or horses?
The Double is an effective general-purpose option, while the C-shaped brush gives the broadest contact area and is specifically intended for larger animals that benefit from access around the head, flanks and back.
Does an AniZen brush need electricity?
No. AniZen is a fixed brush system with no electric motor or hydraulic connection. The animal creates the brushing movement by rubbing against the stationary bristles.
Can the brushes be mounted away from a wall?
Yes. The Double and C-shaped brushes are available on floor-mounted stands. This is useful when the preferred grooming location is in an open pen or yard.
Can I replace the bristles?
Yes. The polypropylene brush modules are designed to be interchangeable, so worn brush sections can be renewed without replacing the complete frame.
How do I choose the correct mounting height?
Choose a height that allows the target animals to make useful contact with the brush without awkward stretching. The wall supports and freestanding versions provide adjustment so the installation can be matched to the animals on site.
Tell us what animals you keep and where the brush will go.
