Installing a sweeper on Grillo FD 13.09

An NHS site in the north of England came to one of our Dealers - Carrs Billington with the challenge of a carpark that needed sweeping to keep it clear for cars and prevent weeds or slip hazards from arising. The Challenge was to fit the sweeper onto their new FD 13.09, which is a perfect companion for a Kersten Sweeper.

The 13.09 has an offset front PTO and a set of lift arms. The lift arms allow an implement to be raised and lowered easily from the seat.

Because of the offset of the PTO, we use it to run a hydraulic pump which powers the sweeper. This allows other functions such as hydraulic collector opening and hydraulic gully brush tobe installed much more easily - keeping everything self contained, so that only the PTO and lift arms need to be connected.

The items used in this project for the Sweeper were as follows:

  1. ABR 45 FM - Bracket for outfront mowers
  2. KM 13045 M - 1.3m sweeper
  3. SSB 13045 K - Collector box
  4. ASH 4045 - Hydraulic Gully brush

The KM 45 series of sweepers are Ideal for outfront mowers due to their light weight and compact size.

The Sweeper can be fitted with hydraulic opening collection system, and in this example a hydraulic gully brush was fitted to sweep material from the kerb edge into the path of the collector.

Kersten sweepers are great at maintaining hard surfaces by removing detritus and debris which reduces weed growth and is fundamental to Integrated weed management.
