Reinstating Kerb Appeal

Maintaining a crematorium and cemetery using a K1500, sweeper, collector box and gulley brush to replace hand tools and hard labour.

We were invited to attend a crematorium and cemetery where the customer has been using hand tools and leaf blowers to maintain their site to ensure that it's looking at it's best at every visit.

The customer has been battling with moss, dirty kerbs, leaves and debris across the grounds and keeping on top of it by hand was becoming time consuming and expensive in terms of labour. The grounds team are also working hard to reduce the chemical use so were keen to investigate the options of chemical free weed and moss control.

Snow clearance was also on their agenda due to them using shovels which is not only back breaking work over the winter but it can also affect their busy schedule.

We demonstrated a K1500, 90cm sweeper, 90 cm collector box and gulley brush. We showed them how the gulley brush can assist with moving debris from kerb edges to enable the sweeper and collector box to do the rest of the work. It moved and collected all leaves and cherry blossom that had been set in place by the wind and recent rain.

In some areas, where the moss was not removed by the sweeper and gulley brush, we used the weedbrush attachment.

The operators and management were very satisfied with the results and noticed how much better the results were compared to doing it by hand. They were very impressed with the low vibrations and how easy the equipment was to use.

The moss was removed from the pathways and they also realised how easy snow clearance with a sweeper will be instead of clearing it with hand tools.
