Moss on Artificfial Hockey Pitch, sweeping

Clearing moss from artificial surface hockey pitch using Kersten K1500 sweeper and collector.

 · 1 min read

Before and after a three passes with a sweeper on the Kersten K1500 sweeper.

The hockey pitch is an omni directional mat with out sand is about 5 years old due to the close proximity of trees and hedges the is a build up of detritus, therefore a nice supply of nutrients also with the lack of sunshine a great place to moss to proliferate and gradually ruin a very expensive pitch.

The regularl sweeping keeps the pitches in good condition stopping the moss growing. Here we have used a pedestrian sweeper in the demonstration but it could easily be a front or rear tractor mounted sweeper with a collector designed for a small compact like a Kubota BX231, Kioti CK2810 or similar John Deere, a light weight small versatile tractor.

The gulley brush clears the debris from the fence and shows a clean edge which looks so much better.
